The load capacities must be provided by the rack manufacturer or a qualified structural engineer based on the specific configuration of your uprights and beams. It is a requirement under AS4084:2023 that these signs are updated whenever the physical configuration of the racking is altered.

They are supplied as blank compliance templates. Because every warehouse configuration is unique, the structural weight capacities must be calculated by a qualified racking inspector or engineer. Once calculated, you can write the specific data directly onto the sign using a permanent outdoor marker, or apply printed vinyl overlay stickers.

Generally you must have a Safe Work Load sign clearly visible at the end of every racking row or “run.” If a warehouse has multiple different types of racking—for example a mix of Selective and Double Deep—each section must have its own specific sign. This ensures that no matter where an operator is working they are aware of the weight limits and safety protocols for that specific area.
