Under tray ute boxes are designed to make the most of the unused space beneath a ute tray, either in front of or behind the rear wheels. They’re commonly used to store tools, straps, jumper cables, jacks, and other gear that you want to keep secure but easily accessible. These boxes help free up space in the main tray area, reduce clutter, and keep frequently used items protected from the weather and road debris. They’re especially popular with tradies, fleet operators, and anyone needing efficient storage on the go.

Our under tray ute and truck toolboxes are fitted with rubber seals around the door openings which helps protect the contents from dust and moisture ingress.

However, whilst they are highly weather-resistant, these toolboxes are not designed to be fully submersible. The seals are meant to keep rain, road spray and dust out.

Our toolboxes come equipped with whale tail compression handles, a robust and reliable locking mechanism designed for security and ease of use. These handles provide a tight compression seal when closed, helping to keep the toolbox lid securely shut and protecting your tools from dust, moisture, and theft. The whale tail design is ergonomic, allowing for smooth operation even with gloves on, and the built-in lock ensures your toolbox remains safely locked during transport or storage.

“Left of wheel” and “right of wheel” refer to the position of the toolbox in relation to the wheel—not the side of the vehicle. When you’re looking directly at the wheel from the side, “left of wheel” means the box is mounted in front of the wheel (on the wheel’s left-hand side), while “right of wheel” means it’s mounted behind the wheel (on the wheel’s right-hand side).

For example, a “left of wheel” box could be mounted on the driver’s side at the rear of the tray, or on the passenger side near the cab. A “right of wheel” box could be mounted on the driver’s side near the cab, or on the passenger side at the rear of the tray.
