Being electro-galvanised (also known as zinc plated) the surface has a metallic finish, it’s important to exercise caution when selecting a cleaning product. Only a neutral cleaner should be used (Soapy water with a neutral pH is recommended) to prevent any chemical reactions from occurring on the zinc plating itself.

Additionally, it’s crucial to clean up any food products that may spill on the shelving right away to prevent similar chemical reactions, as some foods can be acidic. This acidity can lead to discolouration of the zinc plating. Examples of acidic foods include citrus fruits, tomatoes, pineapple, vinegar, pickled items, and strawberries, among others.

Rivet shelving is very easy to assemble. One person can usually assemble a unit quickly and independently. The boltless design means no bolts, buts or other hardware is required. We suggest a rubber mallet be used to gently tap the components together, securing the z-beams into the keyhole slots on the uprights.
