Understanding constraints of the environment
The only constraint that Global had to adhere to was the supply timeline, which was to take place before their grand opening.
Design & engineering process
Powell Industrial provided Global with a rough sketch of the showroom outlining where they wanted the gondola shelving to be positioned. Global offered help with minor alternations to maximise the space. Powell were already familiar with the different sizes offered as they had used the same shelving in a previous store fitout.
Powell chose the colour black (which is currently only available from the Melbourne warehouse) as it made the small fittings stand out. Baskets were specifically requested due the fact it was quick and easy for the customer to choose parts on the go.
Delivery and installation process
Powell Industrial organised their own transport as part of the move from Deer Park to Truganina so they utilised the truck to collect the gondola shelving and then installed it themselves.
